IWK Gets New Chairman

According to a statement released by IWK on Tuesday, Ibrahim, who holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Malaya and Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Manchester Business School, Manchester University in the United Kingdom; replaces Haniffah Hassan who retired on Aug 31.
Ibrahim joined the Finance Ministry as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 1974 and had served in various divisions within the ministry.
He was Senior Advisor to the Executive Director for Southeast Asia at the World Bank in Washington DC, USA from 2003 to 2004.
IWK, which is wholly owned by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, is responsible for providing sewerage services to over 18 million consumers in Malaysia, with the exception of Kelantan, Sabah, Sarawak and areas under the jurisdiction of the Johor Baharu City Council (MBJB).
The company operates and maintains more than 5,300 sewage treatment plants as well as a 14,000-kilometre network of sewage pipelines, since 1994.
